The summer offshore season is rapidly approaching. There was a Bluefin tuna and a yellowtail caught last weekend just 80 miles from San Diego and as we all know those critters don’t travel alone.

The very windy conditions offshore these last 6 weeks have led the experts at scripps to predict an early and excellent season for us and who am I to disagree.

The BIG GAME 90 is offering some very special priceing  on July 2 1/2 day trips.

These trips are specifically scheduled to get you to the early season grounds that are typically a little feather offshore and give you 2 full days of fishing.

The special price for these trips is $439 and this includes food permits and tax are extra.

Capt. Mike Jewett just called in a morning report.

He said that the weather is great and that they had caught enough squid for the trip also they had caught 2 sea bass and fed 3 to the)*^$%%&#^&#&*%SEALS.

Mike said that he had seen quite a few spots of fish mixed in with the squid on the sonar.

He feels that this area could take off any time it’s just a matter of being there at the right time.

The BIG GAME has a 2 day trip departing this evening and the trip is very light.

This could be your chance to get in on some great fishing.

The weather is great and the boys from Long Beach Bait are at the island to catch squid for us.

Capt. Mike called in this morning to report that the weather has  settled down and the fishing is on the upswing.

Mike said that they spent most of yesterday afternoon chasseing large schools of yellows arround in the lee of San Clemente.

The fish where very boat shy and they didn’t have any squid either but did manage to hook 11 fish but landed only 3.

This morning in the bait grounds at Catalina they landed 3 large sea bass and lost at least that many .They are  now looking for more fish in the shallow water where small boats have been catching some limits of smaller fish.
