They are on their way down to the tuna grounds on the first day of a 3 1/2 day trip.

the weather is fine and they have a few fish on the boat already .Mike said they are still about 35 miles from the ares where the albacore where caught yesterday.

They just came off a stop on a kelp that produced 5 albacore and 7 yellows and there is a tuna seiner in the area that is working with a helicopter. Things are looking up!!!!!

Mike said that some of the boats bellow him had had a few stops this morning no great shakes yet but they are seeing fair sign.

subject: Fw: Letter from a soldier (truly puts things in perspective!)

July 12, 2009  //  Posted by: Irv  //  Category: big game 90

Okay, I need to rant.

I was just watching the news, and I caught part of a report on Michael
Jackson.  As we all know, Jackson died the other day.  He was an
entertainer who performed for decades.  He made millions, he spent
millions, and he did a lot of things that make him a villian to many
people.  I understand that his death would affect a lot of people, and
I respect those people who mourn his death, but that isn’t the point
of my rant.

Why is it that when ONE man dies, the whole of America loses their
minds with grief.  When a man dies whose only contribution to the
country was to ENTERTAIN people, the Amercian people find the need to
flock to a memorial in Hollywood, and even Congress sees the need to
hold a “moment of silence” for his passing?

Am I missing something here?  ONE man dies, and all of a sudden he’s a
freaking martyr because he entertained us for a few decades?  What
about all those SOLDIERS who have died to give us freedom?  All those
Soldiers who, knowing that they would be asked to fight in a war,
still raised their hands and swore to defend the Constitution and the
United States of America.  Where is there moment of silence?  Where
are the people flocking to their graves or memorials and mourning over
them because they made the ultimate sacrifice?  Why is it when a
Soldier dies, there are more people saying “good ridence,” and “thank
God for IEDs?”  When did this country become so calloused to the
sacrifice of GOOD MEN and WOMEN, that they can arbitrarily blow off
thier deaths, and instead, throw themselves into mourning for a “Pop
Icon?”

I think that if they are going to hold a moment of silence IN CONGRESS
for Michael Jackson, they need to hold a moment of silence for every
service member killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.  They need to PUBLICLY
recognize every life that has been lost so that the American people
can live their callous little lives in the luxory and freedom that WE,
those that are living and those that have gone on, have provided for
them.  But, wait, that would take too much time, because there have
been so many willing to make that sacrifice.  After all, we will never
make millions of dollars.  We will never star in movies, or write hit
songs that the world will listen too.  We only shed our blood, sweat
and tears so that people can enjoy what they have.

Sorry if I have offended, but I needed to say it.  Feel free to pass
this along if you want.

Remember these five words the next time you think of someone who is
serving in the military;
“So that others may live…”

Isaac

Only two people have ever effectively given their lives for you.

Jesus Christ and The American G.I.

One died for your sins, the other died to give you freedom.

Love & Blessings!!!

IMPORTANT MLPA NOTICE‏!!! ok it,s time for YOU to do YOUR part

July 09, 2009  //  Posted by: Irv  //  Category: big game 90
Ladies and Gentlemen,

Commissioner Richards has spoken out about how poorly the management of the
MLPA process is being handled.

Please click on the following link and you will see a preformatted letter to
the Governor opposing how this is being rolled out. Send this to every
fisherman and associated business you can. It takes only minutes to
complete and send. Every letter counts!

NOTICE from the Partnership for Sustainable Oceans:

Angler and Boater Alert
Your help is needed in California!

The State of California is woefully lacking the financial
resources to implement the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) in a fair
and science-based way. The cost to just scientifically monitor and
enforce designated marine protected areas (MPAs) has been estimated to
be over $30 million a year, but the state is currently $24 billion in
debt.

Please send a letter to Governor Schwarzenegger supporting both
the letter recently sent by Fish and Game Commissioner Dan Richards, and
the suspension of the planning and implementation of the MLPA until the
state has the financial resources to do it fairly the first time.

Voice your support for recreational fishing - send your letter

ED FREEMAN MAY HE REST IN PEACE

July 08, 2009  //  Posted by: Irv  //  Category: big game 90
Michael Jackson dies and it’s 24/7 news coverage. A real American hero dies and not a mention of it in the news. The media has no honor and God is watching

Ed Freeman

You’re a 19-year-old kid. You’re critically wounded and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley , 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam . Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.

You’re lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you’re not getting out. Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away and you’ll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.

Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter and you look up to see an unarmed Huey, but it doesn’t seem real because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.

Ed Freeman is coming for you. He’s not Medi-Vac, so it’s not his job, but he’s flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.

He’s coming anyway.

And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire as they load 2 or 3 of you on board.

Then he flies you up and out, through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses.

And he kept coming back, 13 more times, and took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.

Medal of Honor Recipient Ed Freeman died on Wednesday, August 21,2008 at the age of 80, in Boise , ID.   May God rest his soul.

Medal of Honor Winner
Ed Freeman!
Since the media didn’t give him the coverage he deserves, send this to every red-blooded American you know.

THANKS AGAIN, ED, FOR WHAT YOU DID FOR OUR COUNTRY.
RIP
