Do we have any fishermen that can make the Laguna Beach City Council meeting tonight…..Please pass this along….We need to rally the troops.

Have a look at this.  Unbelievable!! 

The Laguna Beach City Council’s request to Dept. of Fish and Game to make the entire coastline of Laguna Beach a State Marine Reserve.

Their stated reasons for doing this are 1. To create a State Marine Reserve that connects the one in La Jolla with the one in Palos Verdes (according to the MLPA guidelines, Marine Protected Areas should be no more than 50-100km apart). 2. Because enforcing various regulations for different types of allowable fishing would be too difficult and costly compared to enforcing a simple rule the there is no fishing of any kind. 3.  Variations in levels of protection at different beaches would cause a disparity in values of homes and business at those beaches, creating an unfair situation for local home and business owners

    This is outrageously ridiculous! Dam government is trying to control everything.
