I talked to mike at 4 pm no great shakes he worked down the back side of S C I today for fair bass fishing and lots of white fish , sheephead , assorted rockfish , 3 halibut and 5blacks to 75lbs
He did see a couple of small spots of yellows but no biters. He did say there is good sign of bait off of the dunes.
He will be in the cove tonight looking arround.

Mike checking back in this evening with another great day on the water. The guys have well over 200 mixed dorado, yellowfin, yellowtail, and albacore.

 don’t forget to bring out some lite tackle and have some fun.

The Big Game 90 has a 2.5 day trip leaving Sunday night with 2 day trips leaving Wednesday and Friday this week.

noon Friday Sept. 18
Mike has called it another trip and is heading in. The boys are still counting the fish from this mornings battle but it looks like like the count will go over 250 mixed fish with almost 200 of them being Yellowfin for the trip.

Mike reported flat calm weather and said that the area they where fishing (85+miles so.) was spread out and looked to be holding a good quantity of fish. Mike said These next few weeks are going to be really fun.  You never know what the next sonar mark or kelp will be holding. We even had 4 albacore on this trip.

WOW What a day

Capt. Mike checking in early this morning  reported that they limited out on Albacore yesterday and also put over 50 Yellowfin,17 Dorado and did manage to finely land 3 of the lunker Bluefin.

Mike said that they will be looking for more of those bigger Bluefin today.

Capt. Mike Jewett called in early to report good fishing this morning they have 30+ mixed fish  and much improved weather
Mick said that they had their chances yesterday afternoon but didn’t really take advantage of them and only landed 47 tuna and dorado but the fishing was much better than that.
The combination of tough weather,light line, old worn out tackle and inexperience was a bit too much for the first day of the trip. The weather being better and some coaching by the crew they are landing a greater percentage of fish this morning.
The grade of yellowfin was larger too some 25 to 30lbs and a few 50 to 60lb bluefin.
 
We still have openings on tonight’s 2 day  trip including the Military,Law enforcement and Firefighters discount. Sunday nights 2 1/2 trip has openings too

Capt. Mike Jewett just called in his morning report.

They are on their way down to the tuna grounds on the first day of a 3 1/2 day trip.

the weather is fine and they have a few fish on the boat already .Mike said they are still about 35 miles from the ares where the albacore where caught yesterday.

They just came off a stop on a kelp that produced 5 albacore and 7 yellows and there is a tuna seiner in the area that is working with a helicopter. Things are looking up!!!!!

Mike said that some of the boats bellow him had had a few stops this morning no great shakes yet but they are seeing fair sign.

Just a reminder that the next trip with openings is trip # 23 a 3 1/2 day departing next Wednesday at 10pm and returning Sunday morning.

Capt. Mike Jewett just called in a morning report.

He said that the weather is great and that they had caught enough squid for the trip also they had caught 2 sea bass and fed 3 to the)*^$%%&#^&#&*%SEALS.

Mike said that he had seen quite a few spots of fish mixed in with the squid on the sonar.

He feels that this area could take off any time it’s just a matter of being there at the right time.

Well she’s on her way
 
After 3 1/2 weeks of nonstop work and having to deal with several Gremlins and a  Coasty with his head up his ass the boys are headed to Long Beach.
 
Mike said he will be looking for squid along the cost tonight and should be at the marina midmorning tomorrow.
 
We would like to apologize for the delay but the government boy doing the inspection didn’t feel the urgency of us needing to be in Long Beach last night and didn’t show up to do the last part of the inspection on the new generators until late this morning.
     BOY IS HIS BOSS GOING TO GET AN EAR FULL
