Capt. MIKE JEWETT reporting in this morning

After a few drifts for reds and lings this morning they are on their way home and the traveling is great.

Mike reported fun fishing for Yellows ,Tuna , Dorado, even a few groper and a  surprise wahoo.

Never say die Mike said that if conditions are right they will stop at San Martin for an evening go at the yellows. There have been several reports the last few days that the spots below the island are holding nice quality fish.

Mike said he just wanted to check out the Island for the upcoming 2 1/2 day trip departing Nov. 5

They should arrive at arround 9AM IN San Diego tomorrow morning

All is well and they are headed in with another nice catch. Mike said they bagged 199 mixed fish including  7 of thoes lunker albies. the weather is laying down and they are enjoying one of jake’s great dinners.

The BIG GAME goes again Wed. evening for 2 days and there is still room on the trip.

Capt. Mike called in this evening to report that today was one of those days we all dream about. Flat calm weather and tuna tuna everywhere tuna.

Mike said that they caught yellowfin all day long by early afternoon it was hook and release only. Mike said that they will be looking for some of the bigger bluefin tomorrow.

We would like to remind everyone that the fish are moving closer to american waters each day and so that means that you should have a California fishing license with you on our upcoming trips. We will continue to take mexican permits so that we can fish where ever we need to.

Monday afternoon.

The BIG GAME returned from a 2 1/2 day this morning with 138 mixed fish.

Mike said he went looking down the coast and didn’t find much to get excited about.

The weather as up a bit and the fish under the kelps in that area where small.

He said the weather is better and that they will be heading back out to the west where he had the bluefin tonight we will keep you posted.

Friday afternoon.

Capt. Mike Jewett is bringing the Old Girl home with another fine mixed catch.

Mike said they have 60+ bluefin 50+ Yellowfin  20 some Dorado and about the same on the Yellows. Not bad for a bunch of L. A. FIREMEN.

Good morning all (9:15 AM SEPT. 3)
This is a picture of the hurricane weather we are experiencing this morning.

Mike is on the hunt for albacore and the larger yellowfin out to the
west . So far they have found a few samples and seen some good schools
on the sonar. We will keep you posted.

                                                                                              
Sunday August 30 report.                                                      

WOW what a wild roller coaster of a ride this last 10 days has been!!!!!!!!!!!

 The offshore Tuna and Albacore fishing could be best described as GOOD some of the fishing was as good as it get’s, BAD we experienced some bad weather that made fishing difficult at best. and ugly we had a couple of days that where just down right ugly in terms of fish producing.

Mike called in late last night to report that they where again on a high point of that roller coaster ride. After a good  day of catching albacore and yellowfin. He said that they where in a bluefin bite that started arround 7:15 PM and  had lasted into the dark with several fish still hanging.

Is bring the BIG GAME 90 home with a very nice load of albacore,bleufin and yellowfin

Mike said we left them biting. We ended up with over 160 mixed fish with  121 of them being nice fat albies.

With the albacore a making a come back and the bluefin and yellowfin  still arround 

Now is the time to book a  2 or 2 1/2 day trip . These next few weeks are going to be the best mixed bag fishing we have had in years!!!!!!!!!!!
