Guys we made a mistake on the price for early booking on trip # 42 the correct price is $299 +Mandatory food plan and permits if you book before Jan. 1 after that it’s $389

let’s put some prospevtive on the fuel coast
@10kts. 25 gal per hr. @ 12.5 kts 38gal per hr.
current price of fuel is $3.70
or $9.25 per mile @ 10 kts.
or 11.25 per mile @ 12.5
now 150 miles down and 150 miles back
x$9.25= $2775
or $11.25 x300= $3375
thats a difference of $600 and we didn’t figure anything for trolling arround

fuel coasts for this year have been running at about $9500 for 6 1/2 days running
that’s about 30% of our gross
bait landing and port 36.5% of the gross
crew, boat payments, inshurance, maintanance advertiesing,booking fees and government fees are paid out of the remaining 1/3

Enjoy sportfishing as you knew it. Because if something does not change there will only be a very few boats running for $500 a day or more.

Well good to hear he made the dash for them. With the fuel surcharge one would expect Mike to go more than ten knotts from time to time to get on some fish. 2 1/2 day trip , 150 miles down the line, showing up at tuna grounds at noon doesnt work for a reported only AM bite!

That’s why we pay the big bucks to go fishing. Once in a while you have to deviate from normal procedures to make the passengers happy and get on fish. Are you complaining or bragging?
In either case, you got some fish for what was generally a lousy and frustrating trip.
