That’s right Mike went the distance again and it payed off with limit style fishing at Cedros for Quality yellows.
.
They will be heading back up the line tonight and give the tuna a try again tomorrow.
tight lines and good times

    Mike and Crew,

I saw the post from james and felt awful.

Meagan and I loved the 6 day over the 4th. The crew was great, and the fishing at Cedros was also. I really wanted to fish the albies more but knew it was getting kind of rough out there for my 13yr old girl. I asked Mike to make sure we were not going to the calmer island waters on account of my girl.

He assured me it was for the benefit of everyone on board, not just Meagan.

Well we went to Cedros, after catching a few tuna offshore the first couple of days, then we slammed the tails.

Meagan fought and caught her first yellowtail, then some more and an albie on the last day (July 4th).

Steve, of Moody Marlin hooked Meagan up with a rod and reel nicer than any of mine.

    Thanks Steve!

The Kolby prime rib was great!

And a special thanks to the crew who helped my daughter fish so I could have a moment to catch a fish or two+ myself.

It was one of many great trips on the 90 and I would be going again this fall but a 10 day Alaska river trip fell into my lap.

And thanks to Chad for a nice fillet of the blue fin.

Bottom line the boat and crew are top notch and, if there is an icebergs chance in hell of catching fish for us, Mike will find them.

    Thanks,

    Ed

Yea I to was a little disapointed with my 3 1/2 day trip last month
But it was NOT because Mike and the boy’s
it was the 20 plus guy that fished the slide, and did not no how to reel in and start over at the drift
the crew was trying to tell them what to do, but nobody listened,
I have fished the BG-90 for the last 3 years and have always catch fish,
This trip was tough, the fish are here 1 day and gone the next,
I spent most of my time on the bow and every time i looked up at the wheel house Mike had his face in the sonar, whats that tell you,
looks to me he was doing his job
yea I only catch 1 ablee and was not happy
but this sport is not called catching its called fishing
the last few year we killed them, this year is a little tough
if you spend the money to go on these kind of boats then you should no how to fish, or listen to the crew, they will help you
and teach you and give you some great tip on how to fish

i have not seen fish reports for trips 40&42 is there nothing to report

  5. Irv Says:

    Shawn
The fishing was great on trips 40&42 but the catching was as poor as it gets.
The Weather was great and they saw several schools of mixed blue-fin and albacore but the (^*&*($&^#@&^*#things just won’t bite.
We can’t explane it other than the water is cooler than we would like and it’s still off color but we still see the fish on the surface and on sonar but as I said they just aren’t biteing.
We keep thinking that any day they will turn on.
If all that we are seeing does turn on it will be one hell of a bite.

Thanks Mike and the gang for another awesome trip on the BG90. Yes the fishing was WAY better than the rest of the fleet. Yes Mike made it so by having the stones to go to Cedros on a 3.5 day, and yes EVERY trip I’ve been on the BG90 has been a success from the fish catching point of view. But these are not the only reasons I’ll be back. Mike and the gang keep the atmosphere fun and relaxed, whether we’re fishing or catching. This is one of the reasons they catch more than most. –Fred Wilhelm
